Guidelines for Submission
Nexus is a publication for showcasing Wright State students, faculty, emeritus faculty, staff, former staff, alumni, and others with an affiliation to the university. It publishes poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as visual art.
We accept submissions by email only, and we do accept simultaneous submissions. We just ask that you notify us via email if your work is accepted elsewhere.
In the subject line of your emails, please put your name and category of submission (poetry, fiction, art).
All submitted work will be evaluated by editorial board members.
Please include a short bio (4-5 sentences) in the email. Once a decision has been made, an email response
will be returned with possible comments, suggestions, or justification for decision.
After publication, all rights revert back to the original owner. Furthermore, as the author of your piece(s), you inherently always possess copyright over your intellectual property (IP).
Please submit all materials to Nexusliteraryjournal@gmail.com.
GUIDELINES:
Poetry: All styles welcome. Up to five poems per submission, with no poem exceeding three pages.
Fiction & Creative Nonfiction: Short stories, flash fiction, and creative non-fiction (all genres). We will not, however, accept fan-fiction submissions; rather, we are ideally looking for original, character-driven literature. 5,000 word max, must use standard font (Times New Roman preferred).
Art: Any media, which includes photography, painting, sketches, sculpture, collage, comics, and mixed-media. Digital copy is required; please submit a high resolution photograph of work (in the case of sculpture, painting, or any media which the original must be photograph for publication).
